Administration of Early Childhood Programs – A Three Credit Course

                           

Overview:

This interactive course acquaints participants with critical elements in establishing and operating a childcare center. It will explore state regulations, staff relationships, business practices, parent communication, and community relationships. This course meets the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care for the Director I Certificate. Participants from other states need to check with their licensing authority regarding required courses for their director credentials.

Credits: Southern New Hampshire University is granting three Graduate credits for each participant who successfully completes this course. Undergraduate course credit can also be arranged.   

Schedule: This online course is organized into eight weekly Modules. The course begins on July 9 and finishes on August 27, 2020. This is not a self-paced course, each week a new module will open on Thursday mornings at 8 am. Live class sessions will be held via Zoom video conference on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm EST.

Time Commitment:

This course requires your active participation. Expect to spend 10 – 12 hours per week on course work, discussion board posts, and the required assignments. In addition to these course dates and hours, each participant will need to schedule 3 hours shadowing a current director of an early childhood program.
